The Bitter End Ver. 3
Welcome to the third and hopefully the final layout for The Bitter End.
3/26/06 - Update: The forum is up and running again. It seems that there was some sort of bug afflicting the code and causing a log in probem. The techs fixed it and we can all be happy again. Thanks for hanging in there. - CowboyFromHell
3/16/06 - News: THE MAGIC BOX REPORTS - P L A Y S T A T I O N 3

"- SCE president Ken Kutagari announced that the PlayStation 3 launch will be delayed to November 2006, due to Blu-Ray spec finalization, mainly for copyright protection. The PS3 will launch in November 2006 worldwide, before Thanksgiving in all territories. Sony plans to produce at least one million units of PS3 each month, and the goal is to ship 6 million units worldwide by the end of March 2007.
- PlayStaton 3 will launch with the new PlayStation Network Platform service, which offers online gaming services similar to Xbox Live. The new service will be "free".
- PlayStation 3 will have a built-in 60GB 2.5" hard drive, which will be preloaded with Linux operating system. The hard drive can be used as a home server, it will be fully upgradable. Kutaragi told software developers that every PS3 will have a hard drive installed, as it is mandatory. Sony has not decided whether the hard drive will be sold as a separate (mandatory) peripheral or bundled with the console.
- Sony confirmed that all PS3 games will be released only on Blu-Ray discs, as DVDs are too easy being duplicated. PS3 is still capable to play DVDs and CDs, and fully backward compatible with PS2 and PSone.
- Sony announced that the final PS3 development kits will be shipping out to production studios in June; currently more than 15 companies are development middleware and dev-tools for PS3." Read More.
This is certainly some exciting news. The 'backwards' capabilites will definately mean much more to me in the value of having a console that will support my old PSX and PS2 games, not to mention that it will still play DVD's. Despite the late release date, the PS3 is seeming to be worth the wait thus far. - CowboyFromHell
3/1/06 - News: Based on contemporary slasher flicks, Campfire allows players to choose from four different serial killers (Vincent Voucher, Mac Douglas, Louis Winterstorm, and Mannie the Clown) so that they may use them to wreck havoc on the unsuspecting populace of an out of the way campground. 2/15/06 - Update: Yay! The survival horror section is finally up! Unfortunately, it's far from complete, but I figured that actually uploading what we do have may spur me to tear myself away from that annoying little thing called life and get some of the other sections completed! I will post here, as and when new stuff is added. - ControlFreak
2/11/06 - Update: Ok, orange is out and red is in. I was tired of the orange layout so it was changed. We are also getting very close to finishing the survival horror section. - CowboyFromHell
2/08/06 - Update: I've just added two more reviews - thanks, Emeraldrover!
Also, the survival horror section is coming along nicely and it looks like it will be up by the end of the week, so keep checking back! - ControlFreak
2/06/06 - Update: Just a quick update to let you know that we haven't forgotten about the site! Unfortunately, life sometimes gets in the way of the more important things!
New reviews will be up in the next day or two, and the Survival Horror section will be up by the end of the week. We're still waiting on some of the file transcripts, but we'll add those as we get them. - ControlFreak
1/20/06 - Update: Ok, we've been busy working on the new "Survival Horror" section, where you will be able to find file transcripts, screenshots, and other game related stuff. The links aren't active yet, but most of it should be up and running by the end of next week - hopefully! - ControlFreak
1/16/06 - News: Resident Evil 5 debuting simultaneously on 360, PS3?
Capcom plans to release its latest horror-survival game on two consoles at once, a first for the series. In an interview published in Xbox360ism (a special edition of Dorimaga), Capcom Research & Development division chief Keiji Inafune said he expects Resident Evil 5 to be released simultaneously on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 if possible."We want to grow the Resident Evil series into a multi-platform franchise, so we hope to release it simultaneously [on the two next-generation consoles]," Inafune told Xbox360ism. "But since we don't know the launch period for the PS3 yet, so it's hard to say [if we can]." - Read more here at Gamespot News
1/15/06 - Update: I just uploaded 6 new wallpapers in the Wallpaper section! I know I haven't updated for a while now. It's not from a lack of interest. Mainly this would be a combination of the lack of any news and my laziness.. the latter being more related to the truth. On a positive note, several forum members and a couple of other friends on boards elswhere have taken it upon themselves to transcribe all of the notes and files from all of the main survival horror games such as those from the Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Fatal Frame series. Oh yeah, that reminds me... in the coming weeks we will be adding a section that transcribes all of the files from these games...*hits self in head*. Sorry about that, I was putting the cart before the horse in all of my excitement. Also, I will most likely be moving all of the news articles over to the Articles section and just start putting major news here on the homepage. Well, I think that just about covers it for now. If you want to transcribe any other games, please feel free to check out the Forum for details on who is transcribing what, then put your 2 cents worth in and email me with your transcriptions. I would like to thank all of those at the forum for your hard work in contributions to this site. God knows I can't do it all by myself.
If any sites would like to join the fanlisting, then please feel free to check out the Black Sanctuary site HERE or click the [ .. B*S* .. ] link on the affiliation links to the left. - CowboyFromHell
1/03/06 - News: New Survival-Horror game, Possession, comes to the PS3.

PS3 Portal writes, "Possession is a unique take on the all-too used idea of zombies invading an unsuspecting city. But, instead of just plopping the player down in the middle of the mayhem and telling them to try and survive like every other horror game in existence, Possession gives users complete control of the chaos. You see, this time around you'll be the ones playing the zombies." Read more here. - CowboyFromHell
12/31/09 - Update: I added the last of the updates for the year. I wish everyone a Happy New Year and am looking forward to the next. With any luck this will be one of the best years ever for gaming, providing that those anticipated (i.e., RE5 and SH5: SOTP) are released. CowboyFromHell
12/30/05 - Update: I hope everyone had a good Christmas and are looking forward to another year. I apologize for the lack of updates, but this time of year seems to have us all very busy. I have been reading a bit on the new Resident Evil movie and it seems that it is being filmed in Australia. I will add some details later. In the meantime I will still be trying to dig up whatever information I can regarding Silent Hill 5. Basically, there is absolutely nothing other than speculation regarding details of SH5. Konami is doing a great job of keeping this one under their hats. Oh well, that just makes it more exciting when it is finally released. I would also like to thank those who have contributed game reviews. I hope everyone has a fun and safe New Year and I will see you at the forums. - CowboyFromHell
12/12/05 - News: Who could this be?
I was having a look at the Silent Hill movie trailer today and I thought I caught a glimpse of someone familiar. So I decided to have a look around the internet to see if anyone had noticed the same thing. I stumbled across a site called silenthillresorts.com and my thoughts were substantiated. It seems that they took the trailer in the wma format and had a look at it frame by frame and found that indeed there are a few frames that show an, albeit, shadowy form that is none other than Pyramid himself. Here is that picture now:
I did the same thing with the .wma form of that trailer and found that this is most true. There are about 4 frames that show pyramid head swinging the big knife. This part of the trailer lasts literally a split second and is extremely hard to spot. Go and check out the official trailer at the Sony pictures site and see for yourself. I will post more information just as soon as I have it. - CowboyFromHell
12/08/05 - Update: I am finishing up with the new layout. The old format was driving me insane and change was inevitable. We are glad to see you all re-registering at the new forum. ControlFreak has worked very hard to get the new board going. She and I feel that the new board will allow us to continue in the direction that we have always invisioned it going. Don't forget to register at the new Bitter End forum. Click here to go there now. Now that the site is finally in a format that is a bit easier to edit I can start adding member content and begin with the updates as well. Enjoy! - CowboyFromHell

Lots of credit and many thanks goes to Boblecon1096 for his efforts. - CowboyFromHell
